I am Rich.vom.Dorf. - my real name is Richard and i was born in 1981 in a little village of eastern germany. I made my first contact with electronic music in the early nineties. This new kind of music catched me like a virus the first time i was listening to some oldschool Gabba/Jungle Traxx. In the beginning it was hard to get some electronic music here at the countryside. But then our culture was growing bigger and bigger and i got fresh music and infos from radioshows like "RaveSatelite" and newspapers like "Raveline" or "Frontpage".`
After a while i wanted more than only consuming - i wanted to make my own music - and so i was buying a groovebox some keyboards and used it together with some guitareffects a taperecorder and a little mixer. Some real wired soundscapes and beatz came out of these machines and the recorded tapes turned around between friends and others. But this equipment wasn´t enough for me. I was giving it away and turned to the computer because of more possibillitys in music production.
Then in 2002 there was the idea to run a internetproject (something like a weblabel) together with some friends. It was called "silent-village" but after one jear of fun, party, and radioshows, the project was going down because of to less teamwork. Sad sad but this did not stop me! I released some stuff on different weblabels and in 2005 one of my trax was winning at a competition of the german music magazine "KEYS"
In 2006 i also started a new sideproject called "the villageboy" ("the villageboy" is not for my own music - it´s about dj sets which i mix on my laptop). During the years i was also working for various electronic music magazines (e.g."Raveline" / "FreshguideNordOst" / "SubcultureNordOst") as a freelancer and was writing little reports and made some grfx work for them. Electronic music is my live - definitely!!!

One day a hungarian guy decided to create some loops for his radio show (Then Nothing - http://tn.torespont.com) at Torespont Radio ( http://torespont.hu/ ). Some of those loops grew into tracks and that's pretty much the story behind Project Swirl.
Since then, he has released a couple of EPs - on Eastern Recordings, inoQuo and TestTube netlabels - and a compilation track in some Russian underground netlabel and a couple more are underway.
